Description

This lot features three English-made earthenware storage canisters of tapering cylindrical form with slightly flared rims and pedestal bases. The exterior of each vessel is decorated with multi-colored floral transfers set within a cream-colored trellis grid. The motifs vary across the pieces, depicting pansies, lilies, and cyclamen. The upper rims and the two included lids are finished with a decorative scrolling border and a narrow geometric band. The two domed lids are topped with central knob finials. The underside of one canister is marked with a black printed inscription in uppercase letters reading: DISHWASHER, FREEZER, OVEN AND MICROWAVE SAFE followed by MADE IN ENGLAND. Above the country of origin, there is a small, blurred mark that is not legible as a name or specific logo.

Condition report:

The set is incomplete as one canister is missing its corresponding lid (photo 1). All three pieces show visible dark staining and moisture penetration around the unglazed foot rims (photo 3). The interior base of the open canister exhibits some light localized staining (photo 2). There are no chips, cracks, or repairs visible in the provided images.
