Description

This lot consists of three matching framed portrait prints from a series titled Players with Pedigree. The prints are color lithographs or high-quality trade card reproductions depicting three legendary figures of English cricket in mid-20th-century style. Each print features the header Players with Pedigree in a stylized green serif font at the top. The players are identified by printed text at the bottom of each card. The first depicts Mr. Douglas Jardine in a dark blue blazer with yellow and red piping. The second depicts Sir Leonard Hutton in a dark blue blazer. The third depicts Mr. Jim Laker in a dark blue blazer. The portraits use a soft-focus artistic style. Each card is mounted within a simple, rectangular black frame. Based on the series title, these are associated with Marston’s Pedigree.

Condition report:

All three frames show visible wear with scuffing and paint loss along the edges and corners (photo 1). The frame for the Jim Laker portrait has a significant area of surface material peeling and loss at the top center (photo 1). The paper of all three cards exhibits uniform age-related toning. The Douglas Jardine card shows small spots of foxing or staining near the upper left corner and the bottom edge (photo 1). No glass damage is visible, though surface dust is present.
