Description
A glazed porcelain novelty toast rack featuring characters from the Walt Disney animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The piece consists of seven figures standing in single file on a rectangular white porcelain base. Each figure is modeled in a distinct pose and hand-painted in a palette of yellow, purple, brown, green, and red glazes. The characters are positioned to create six slots for holding toast. The underside of the base features two rectangular adhesive labels. The left label is printed in green and black with a three-leaf clover logo, the word Clover, the slogan Loved all over, and the instruction Cleaning by dish washer is not recommended. Hand wash only. The right label is printed in blue and includes the Walt Disney logo above the text Walt Disney’s CLASSIC SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS and a Disney copyright symbol.
Condition report:
The porcelain is in good condition overall. A small loss of glaze or dark firing mark is visible on the back of the left shoulder of the front character, Dopey (photo 2). The white base shows minor shelf wear and dark marks along the lower edges (photo 1). No chips, cracks, or restorations are visible.
