Description

A decorative tabletop bust crafted in the Ancient Egyptian revival style, depicting a royal figure, likely modeled after Tutankhamun. The piece is constructed from cast resin with a polychrome finish, featuring a gold-toned face and neck set against a deep blue nemes headdress and wesekh collar. The collar is detailed with concentric bands of gold, turquoise, and terracotta red. A protective uraeus cobra is positioned centrally on the brow of the headdress. A single braided lock of hair or decorative element extends down the right side of the chest. The underside of the base features a partial white adhesive paper label with a black barcode. The printed text on the label includes a partial line reading TEM # and another reading MADE, with the number 021 visible in a reverse orientation. The specific manufacturer name and full item number are not legible due to the damage to the label.

Condition report:

The bust shows visible signs of wear and handling. There is notable paint loss and rubbing exposing the underlying material on the edges of the base (photo 2) and the pointed tips of the headdress (photo 1). The gold finish on the face shows minor surface scuffing and rubbing. The underside of the base has multiple scuffs and scratches throughout the blue finish, and the manufacturer label is torn and incomplete (photo 2).
